Highland Games June 13, 2010
Posted by Mimi » add a commentWe had SUCH a great time headlining at the Indiana Highland Games this year. We were invited by Tessa from the Wallace Clan to play next July at Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina, which we are more than delighted about. http://www.gmhg.org/
The band and this line-up are like nothing I’ve come across before musically, they are outstanding.
We will have new recordings up very soon.
We met the folks from Hogeve Navvy

REALLY lovely group of people, their harmonies are spot-on and they have a fantastic amount of cheer to them.
Saturday the 19th we play Broadripple as a gift in benefit for two of our band mates who will be working with the Children’s Choir of Fort Wayne as they tour in China during the month of July.
June 26th we headline the Pretty Lake Acoustic Music Festival in Kendalville.

The band are all excited to be headlining next week’s Highland Games at IPFW. http://www.scottishsocietyftw.org/highlandgames.htm
We will be back in the studio within the next few months recording the new band. They are amazing and have elevated the sound far beyond anything you’ve heard yet.
Thank you to all of those who participated in last weekends event for the filming of the music video for Gypsy Dance, it was great fun. My special thanks for Stephanie Long, Jesse Christopherson and Nathan Reitz for filming. Photos from Al Mozena and Kim Wilkinson.
We have a new song coming out on a commercial for a hear aid company named HearCare. The song is named Sweet Sounds and it is sung by our friend Craig Lyons http://craiglyons.com. It will be available for download in about a month.
I’ve met with a director for our upcoming Rock Opera and I have also met with Dar Williams who is a grief counselor here in the area. My research on death and dying should offer some fantastic ideas and hopefully be helpful for our audience in allowing further healing during the grief process.
A few people I feel you should know about this week. First is my great friend from long ago and a professor at Wesleyan, Mister Jacob Bricca. He has a new short film out called PURE. It reminds me of all the best scenes from the Blues Brothers, in a time space of 3 minutes.
Second is a band named Derek Trucks whom many of you, I am certain, have heard of…for those of you who’ve not heard of him, check out this song http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=51447833
Mike Mattison has a such a sexy voice. So very raspy and intimate.
Finally, our good friends from the band BROTHER are back out with possibly the hottest album I have heard in a very long time. http://brothermusic.com/ come over and listen to the clips. Muy Caliente!!!!!
Goodbye to our young friend Anjali, may your dancing be abundant from now on beautiful!

Please pick a charity in your life to give to!
Blessings to each of you.
